Lieutenant Colonel Stefan Schliebitz joined the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies (GCMC), as a military professor in October 2024. He serves in the Research and Policy Analysis Department working on topics of special interest to the German Federal Ministry of Defense and the US Department of Defense.
Prior to joining the GCMC, Lieutenant Colonel Schliebitz has held positions in the Federal Ministry of Defense, was seconded to the Federal Foreign Office and employed in the German Delegation to NATO. He served as action officer in the European Union Military Staff in Brussels.
Lieutenant Colonel Schliebitz is an alumnus of the 3rd Joint German Armed Forces General Staff Course in Hamburg and the Joint Command and Staff Program 37 of the Canadian Forces College in Toronto, Canada. He has been serving in the Bundeswehr since July 1993.
