GARMISCH PARTENKIRCHEN, Germany (Nov. 10, 2016) - Raphael Perl, executive director of the Partnership for Peace Consortium shared his perspectives on asymmetric warfare at a gathering of European security officials at the Stefania Palace in Budapest, Hungary, Nov. 9.

The conference, “Asymmetric Warfare, Conflict of the Past, the Present and the Future” was held Nov. 9-10 and was sponsored by the Hungarian Minister of Defense.

“A common failure in much of today’s mainstream thinking is the belief that asymmetric warfare can be stopped by conventional warfare.  Because threats can come from so many unexpected sources, when attempting to provide security todays, governments need to cast wider and wider nets for information gathering with potential for abuse in securing of information,” said Perl in his opening remarks.
