The College of International Security Studies (CISS), invites applications for multiple full time, term faculty positions (assistant, associate, and full professor opportunities). We especially seek faculty colleagues who have expertise in any of the following areas: strategic power competition, emerging security threats, European security, cyber security, countering transnational organized crime, human security, political economy, Russia and China.       

CISS is committed to providing the highest quality resident and outreach programming to our allies and partners, while building a network of national security professionals committed to peace and stability across the globe. In addition to bringing in approximately 800 practitioner students to the campus each year, GCMC offers a Masters in International Security Studies (MISS) for security professionals in partnership with the Universitӓt der Bundeswehr München. Additionally, faculty support multiple outreach and Alumni events each year as speakers and facilitators.       

Qualifications: Candidates should have a Ph.D. in a relevant field (e.g. political science, political economy, international law, international development, international studies, sociology). Candidates for associate and full professor positions, in addition to a Ph.D., are expected to have a strong record of excellence in teaching and mentorship at all levels. Highly-qualified, senior technical personnel with Masters’ in relevant areas may be considered for certain positions.
