Security in the 21st Century: Dr. Glenn Diesen – Professor at the University of South-Eastern Norway

GARMISCH-PARTENKIRCHEN (MAY 27, 2021) -- In Episode 16, Dr. Loftus interviews Dr. Diesen on the main themes of his new book based on great power competition and the fourth industrial revolution. Topics include how technological innovation is re-shaping our societies and influencing great power competition, the meaning and relevance of liberal economic practices in this new era, the viability of capitalism, how domestic politics affect foreign policy choices, how these developments affect democracy and what the future of the transatlantic relationship will be considering these trends.

The aim of the Marshall Center’s Security in the 21st Century video podcast is to engage in conversations with professionals from different sectors of society such as government, academia, international organizations and the private sector to achieve an integrated approach to security.
