Ambassador Michael McFaul from Stanford University

GARMISCH-PARTENKIRCHEN (Feb. 5, 2021) – In this episode of Security in the 21st Century, Dr. Suzanne Loftus interviews Ambassador Michael McFaul, who served as the U.S Ambassador to Russia from 2012 to 2014. McFaul is currently the Ken Olivier and Angela Nomellini Professor in International Studies in the Department of Political Science at Stanford University, where he is the Director of the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies. Topics covered in this episode include Russian domestic politics, lessons from the Cold War that we can apply towards our geostrategic competition with China, and what U.S. leadership in the world today should look like given our present challenges.
