GARMISCH-PARTENKIRCHEN, Germany (June 24, 2016) — Marshall Center faculty members held a lunchtime lecture of opportunity on the Referendum of the United Kingdom's membership of the European Union for their colleagues and members of the Garmisch Military Community June 23.
The United Kingdom voted June 23 to withdrawal from the European Union, often shortened to Brexit ("British" or "Britain" and "exit").
Marshall Center Professors James Wither and Dr. Graeme Herd, both citizens of the United Kingdom, and Senior German Professor Dr. Ralf Roloff, and German Deputy Dean Dr. Sven Bernhard Gareis shared their perspectives on events leading up to the decision and the potential security implications.
The lecture and follow-on question and answer period lasted more than an hour.
