GARMISCH-PARTENKIRCHEN, Germany (Jan. 15, 2016) - The Marshall Center graduated 58 new alumni from 28 countries Jan. 15, who attended the first European Security Seminar – East.

The final day was filled with the final plenary session – “Thinking Ahead,” and presentations from the five working groups, followed by comments and plenary discussions.

Each working group had 10 minutes to present three or four policy recommendations in their issue areas, three important strategic insights and three important takeaways.

These strategies and recommendations will be published and presented to the Munich Security Conference to provide the larger security community, and the Marshall Center stakeholders and customers with the results of ESS-E.

This new resident program focused on Russia's continuing aggression in Ukraine, concerns among their neighbors and NATO allies, and Russia's newly published national security strategy that identifies NATO as a threat. The participants worked together to develop comprehensive strategies to address conflicts, vulnerabilities and growing disorder, to include mass migration.
