More than ninety participants from 16 countries attended the workshop entitled “Central European Cyber Strategy and Policy Solutions to Protecting Cyberspace.” In addition to Romania, representatives from Bulgaria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Belarus, Czech Republic, Georgia, Hungary, Moldova, Montenegro, Portugal, Serbia and Ukraine attended.
The program consisted of eight sessions that examined cyber security regional challenges, strategy development, international collaboration and information sharing, cyber prosecutions and investigations, critical infrastructure protection, emergency response to cyber-attack teams; and cyber partnerships, innovation and leadership. The two day seminar finished with a discussion on comprehensive approach considerations to cyber defense.
Subject matter experts from Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Justice, Interior, Defense and other national-level organizations made presentations to the group and engaged them with an open and frank discussion on the topics. Whole-of-government approaches to enhance cyber security was a common theme.
This workshop is one of five this year conducted by the Marshall Center in Europe, Central Asia and Africa that brings together cyber experts to further international cooperation and work toward building international cyber norms.
