First Alumni Scholar of the Year Presents on Extremism, Organized Crime
Marshall Center Alumni Scholar Dzevad Terzic, a police inspector with Bosnia and Herzegovina's Federal Police Administration, presented his research to Marshall Center faculty and staff in Garmisch-Partenkirchen on Feb. 27, 2025.
His study, “The Intersection of Far-right Extremism, Russian Influence, and Organized Crime in Bosnia and Herzegovina: Challenges for Security and Democratic Stability,” examined how these intertwined threats affect both national resilience and broader European security. His findings added to the ongoing dialogue on security and law enforcement challenges while highlighting the value of our Alumni Scholars Program in advancing global cooperation.
Terzic's presentation marked the culmination of five weeks of dedicated research and writing by the Marshall Center's first alumni scholar of 2025 and the first-ever from Bosnia and Herzegovina. He is also the 110th alumni scholar since the program began in 2004.
Through the Alumni Scholar Program, the Marshall Center helps shape the broader security discussion, strengthen regional cooperation, and support the revitalization of defense capacities.
