Future Lab & Research Workshop
Future Lab & Research Workshop
In the second iteration of this series, the combined program– a one-week research workshop and an overlapping 3-week Future Lab– will focus on 2025's research theme of Integrated Deterrence. During the week-long Research Workshop, participants will develop scenarios exploring potential threats and analyze the value of concepts such as deterrence and resilience to meet these threats. Key questions include: Is the concept of deterrence applicable to hybrid threats? Have existing concepts and capabilities been adapted to meet these evolving challenges? In the following two weeks, Future Lab participants will refine the ideas generated in the first week and develop policy recommendations.
The annual Future Lab & Research Workshop series provides insights on relevant and timely security policy issues. It also aims to integrate the broad and valuable expertise of GCMC Alumni into the Center’s research activities, offering interested GCMC Alumni the opportunity to be considered for publication in the peer-reviewed journal Connections or in Strategic Insights, GCMC’s peer-reviewed online research article series.
