U.S. Marine Corps Col. Adam Jeppe joined the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies as a member of the military faculty in July 2025.

Jeppe is a U.S. Marine Corps colonel with more than 30 years of distinguished service, beginning his career as an enlisted aviation electronics technician before commissioning as an officer in 1999. His command assignments include serving as the commanding officer of Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 31 and as a company commander at the Officer Candidate School.

Jeppe’s staff and policy assignments include two tours with Manpower and Reserve Affairs as an end-strength planner and as the branch head for Military Policy Branch within Marine Corps Headquarters. He also served as an aviation requirements resource officer at the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations staff, and as the aviation sustainment section head at Marine Corps Aviation Headquarters.

Jeppe served in a variety of key operational and staff billets that bridged his technical background with broader leadership responsibilities, including production control officer, maintenance and material control officer, and aircraft maintenance officer. In these roles he managed large teams of Marines, ensured combat readiness, and liaised with joint and allied commands, providing a foundation for later command and policy leadership roles.

Throughout his career, Jeppe has consistently focused on strategy—whether developing manpower policies at Marine Corps Headquarters, shaping aviation sustainment requirements, or contributing to multinational defense education. His perspective combines operational insight with strategic vision, ensuring decisions are grounded in practical realities while aligned with long-term institutional goals.

Jeppe earned a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Management from Southern Illinois University with honors, a Master of Science in Manpower Systems Analysis from the Naval Postgraduate School, and a Master of Science in National Security Strategy from the National War College. He is also a graduate of the Royal College of Defence Studies in London, the Amphibious Warfare School, the Command and Staff College, and other professional military education programs.
