GARMISCH-PARTENKIRCHEN, Germany (Feb. 20, 2019) – The master’s program in International Security Studies (MISS), which is offered jointly by the Marshall Center and the Bundeswehr University Munich, has been reaccredited until Sept. 30, 2025.

Upon the recommendation of a standing expert committee, the MISS program was awarded the accreditation certificate of the German Accreditation Council.

This is the highest form of accreditation for study programs in Germany. The accreditation is valid in the entire European Higher Education Area and recognized in most countries around the world.

The MISS program first received academic accreditation in 2013 and was due for reaccreditation in 2018/2019.

The Accreditation, Certification and Quality Assurance Institute (ACQUIN) checked the development of the study program as well as modifications made since the first accreditation.

Particular focus was placed on quality assurance. Part of the reaccreditation process was an on-site visit at the Marshall Center by an expert group of university professors.

The MISS is a unique one-year post-graduate study program taught by faculty from both institutions and is designed to prepare international military and civilian security professionals for executive positions in the public and private sector.
