GARMISCH-PARTENKIRCHEN, Germany (Oct. 26, 2015) – The second Research Seminar in International Security with 40 military and civilian staff members from the National Defense University Carol I of Romania are conducting research at the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies here from Oct. 26 to 30.
This seminar was held here for the first time last October, said Dr. Matthew Rhodes, seminar moderator and director of the Marshall Center’s Central and South Eastern Europe Non-Resident Programs.
Rhodes said the researchers are here to conduct security related research, further mutual understanding of topical security issues and discuss mutual concerns, and learn about the Marshall Center and how it can aid in their research efforts.
To accomplish these objectives, the Romanian researchers will learn about and use the Marshall Center’s Research Library databases and resources.
They will listen to tailored presentations on topics such as “Russia: Regime Legitimating, Strategic Renovation, and Future Scenarios” and “Euroatlantic Security Relations.”
They will also attend several classroom presentations in the Marshall Center’s resident course Program on Applied Security Studies 15-10, which started Oct. 23.
