GARMISCH-PARTENKIRCHEN, Germany  - The George C. Marshall European Center for Strategic Studies released its 14th Security Insights paper outlining key discussion points from more than 60 officials and scholars from 11 nations who met at an international conference in Prague, Feb. 29 – March 1.

Authored by George C. Marshall European Center Program Director on Central and Southeast Europe Matthew Rhodes and Institute of International Relations, Prague Michal Kořan , “Euro-Atlantic Security: A Pre-Warsaw Assessment,” summarizes the key discussions from a Marshall Center-hosted conference of the same name held at Prague’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The paper discusses the backdrop of ISIS combat operations and the great migration of refugees to the scheduled NATO Warsaw Summit, July 8-9. NATO’s present commitments and proposed future commitments, along with the role of central Europe is also examined in the paper.

According to the authors, “the Warsaw Summit comes at a time of deep, serial challenges to the Euro-Atlantic community and may represent an inflection point in its response.”
