PLTCE Hosts a Language Standards, Assessment Seminar

GARMISCH-PARTENKIRCHEN, Germany (Dec. 8, 2015) -- The George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies’ Partner Language Training Center, Europe is hosting a Language Standards and Assessment Seminar for nine participants from eight countries here from Dec. 1 to 10.
This is a practical seminar that familiarizes experienced language teachers and language program managers with the NATO standards for language proficiency and introduces them to sound principles of testing in order to foster student-centered learning, more accurate assessments of student progress and improved instructional program design.
Jeremy Nowers, Defence Centre for Languages and Culture, Defence Academy, United Kingdom and Jürgen Kotzian, Austrian Armed Forces Language Institute, National Defence Academy, Austria, are the adjunct faculty for this seminar.
Participants hail from: Bosnia-Herzegovina; Czech Republic; Egypt; Georgia; Macedonia; Moldova; Spain; and, Tunisia.
Through its English Language Programs Department, PLTCE is an officially-recognized NATO Partnership Training and Education Center that offers workshops and seminars for English teaching and testing professionals from NATO and partner nations.
