Dr. Monika Wohlfeld joined the Marshall Center in December 2023 and serves as a Professor of Security Studies.
Prior to joining the Marshall Center, Dr. Wohlfeld was the German Chair for Peace Studies and Conflict Prevention at the Mediterranean Academy of Diplomatic Studies in Malta (2009-2023) where she taught contemporary security studies to young diplomats from the Mediterranean region. She previously served as Deputy Director of the Conflict Prevention Center at the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, responsible for OSCE’s field operations in 19 countries. She was also the Head of External Cooperation at the OSCE Headquarters and Senior Diplomatic Adviser to the OSCE Secretary General. In addition, she worked as a Senior Research Fellow at the Western European Union (now European Union) Institute for Security Studies in Paris.
Dr. Wohlfeld serves as a member of the expert advisory board of the New Med Research Network and as a member of the OSCE Network of Think Tanks and Academic Institutions. She has been awarded a NATO Fellowship and a German Marshall Fund of the United States fellowship.
