GARMISCH-PARTENKIRCHEN, Germany (Nov. 20, 2015) – U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Drexel Barayuga was awarded the Defense Meritorious Service Medal for his duties as the Senior Enlisted Advisor from Nov. 8, 2012 to November 20, 2015 at the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies, during an award ceremony held Nov. 19 in the Director’s office.

As the Senior Enlisted Advisor, Barayuga mentored all of the enlisted soldiers at the Marshall Center, while providing recommendations to the U.S. Military Commander and Director.

Barayuga established relationships with his German partners and with the U.S. Army Garrison Bavaria-Garmisch Community team, to provide training opportunities to all soldiers stationed in Garmisch.
