GCMC Alumni discuss Islamic State

GARMISCH-PARTENKIRCHEN, Germany (Dec. 3, 2014) – About 50 security leaders throughout the world met for the fifth annual Program on Terrorism and Security Studies Alumni Community of Interest event at the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies here. Titled The ‘Islamic State: A New Era in Transnational Terrorism, the COI workshop was from Dec. 1 to 4 and hosted by the center’s Alumni Program and PTSS staff. Community of interest workshops are designed to support and engage more than 10,000 Marshall Center alumni, of which 1,100 are from the center’s premier PTSS program. The mission of the Marshall Center is to create a more stable security environment by advancing democratic institutions and relationships, especially in the field of defense; promoting active, peaceful security cooperation; and enhancing enduring partnerships throughout the world.
