Friends of the Marshall Center Sept 30 2014GARMISCH-PARTENKIRCHEN, Germany (Sept. 30, 2014)  —  German army Col. (Ret) Gerhard Blaesing (second to right), president of the Friends of the Marshall Center, meets with participants from the Program on Applied Security Studies Sept. 29 at the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies here. About 100 participants from 45 countries started PASS 14-09 Sept. 29. While they are here for seven weeks, members of the Friends of the Marshall Center, A local club here, help the participants learn about the Bavarian customs and cultures, and the city of Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The Friends of the Marshall Center introduced themselves to the participants on the first day of class because at the end of the second day- Sept. 30, they sponsor a reception with the Lord Mayor of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, where they will pair participants with members of the Friends of the Marshall Center, who will sponsor them while they are here.
