GARMISCH-PARTENKIRCHEN, Germany (Sept. 11, 2014) – U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Derrick Chambers, human resources specialist here, sings the National Anthem Sept. 11 during the Patriot Day ceremony at the U.S. Army Garrison Bavaria Garmisch Community Chapel here.

The ceremony’s Keynote Speaker Rick Steinke, associate dean of the College of International and Security Studies, recounted the story of Rick Rescorla, who was the director of security for Morgan Stanley, who died while leading the evacuation of the south tower of the World Trade Center.

In the United States and U.S. military installations around the world, Patriot Day is observed as the National Day of Service and Remembrance every Sept. 11 in memory of the 2,977 killed in the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.
