U.S. Ambassador to Czech Republic Andrew Schapiro makes opening remarks to the Euroatlantic Security:  A Pre-Warsaw Assessment Seminar organized by the Marshall Center’s Non-Resident Program.

The Marshall Center led a two-day Euro Atlantic Security seminar Feb. 29 – March 1, at the Institute of International Relations Prague.

The seminar analyzed the progress in implementation of decisions reached by the NATO Alliance at its 2014 ‪Wales summit and previewed the agenda of issues for the 2016 summit in Warsaw.  The seminar included remarks by U.S. Embassy Prague Ambassador Andrew H. Schapiro; Federal Republic of Germany Ambassador to the Czech Republic Dr. Arndt Freiherr Freytag von Loringhoven, and Czech Republic Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Security and Multilateral Issues Jakub Kulhánek.

Leading the nonresident event for the Marshall Center was Director of Programs on Central and Southeast Europe Dr. Matthew Rhodes.  Dr. Graeme Herd was part of a panel discussion and offered his perspectives on “Fighting ISIS:  The Euroatlantic Coalition and Russian Intervention in Russia.”  Dr. Ralf Roloff shared his expertise on a panel discussion titled “Europe’s Migration and Refugee Crisis:  Impacts on Euroatlantic Security and Solidarity.”
