

SFC Martinez, Jonathan
Sergeant First Class Jonathan Martinez enlisted in the Army in March of 2004. He completed OSUT in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri for Chemical Biological Radiological and Nuclear Operations Specialist in July 2004. In 2011, he completed advanced individualized training to become a Cryptologic Linguist. He has served in various positions including, CBRN NCO, SIGINT Analyst, SIGINT team leader, Platoon Sergeant, Cryptologic Linguist, Cryptologic Linguist Supervisor, and Drill Sergeant.
Sergeant First Class Martinez’s assignments include 226th Medical Logistics Battalion, Miesau, Germany, 22nd Chemical Battalion, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, 1st Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, GA, 3rd Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group, Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, and 309th Military Intelligence Battalion, Fort Huachuca, Arizona. SFC Martinez’s deployed for a total of 19 months to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, served a 9 months deployment to Zabul Province, Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, and a total of 13 months in support of Special Operations Command South in the SOUTHCOM Area of Responsibility.
Sergeant First Class Martinez’s military and civilian education includes the Basic Leader Course, Advanced Leader Course, Senior Leader Course, Drill Sergeant Academy, Basic Airborne Course, Combative Level 1 Course, and Low Level Voice interceptor (LLVI) Operator Course. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Intelligence Studies from American Military University, and is currently pursuing a Masters of Arts in Intelligence Studies with a concentration in collection.
Sergeant First Class Martinez's awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (1 OLC), the Army Commendation Medal (4OLC), the Army Achievement Medal (2OLC), the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the NCO Professional Development Ribbon (3), the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Ribbon (3), the Iraqi Campaign Medal (4 Campaign Stars), the Afghanistan Campaign Medal (1 Campaign Star), and the NATO Medal and Good Conduct Medal (5), the Drill Sergeant Identification Badge, the Parachutist Badge, and the Drivers Badge (wheeled).
