LTC Juan P. Murillo
LTC Juan P. Murillo serves as the Deputy Course Director for European Security Seminar East and European Security Seminar EU & NATO. LTC Murillo is a U.S. Army Eurasian Foreign Area Officer with Political-Military, regional expertise, and a strategic focus for Western Europe and the Balkans.
Prior to joining the Marshall Center in 2020, LTC Murillo served as a European Desk Officer in Army International Affairs at the Pentagon (2018-2020), where his duties included a portfolio of 19 European countries, planning and execution of the annual German-U.S. Army Staff Talks, and development of the German-U.S Armies’ Bilateral Strategic Vision Statement. From 2015 to 2018, LTC Murillo served as the Army Attaché in Kosovo, where he assisted in the development of the Kosovo Security Force transition plan to an Army and advancement of the non-majority outreach program. His deployments include Kosovo 4B, Iraq OIF II, Iraq OIF IV, and Afghanistan OEF X. His awards and decorations include: Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with one oak leaf cluster, Army Commendation Medal with two oak leaf clusters Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Combat Action Badge, Parachutist Badge, Pathfinder Badge and Ranger Tab.
LTC Murillo received his Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Saint Edwards’s University in 2001, his Master of Business Administration from Chaminade University in 2009, and a Master's degree in international relations from Saint Mary’s University in 2016.
