German Air Force Lt. Col. Stefan Schliebitz joined the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies as a military professor in October 2024. He serves in the Research and Policy Analysis Department, focusing on topics of special interest to the German Federal Ministry of Defense and the U.S. Department of Defense.
Prior to joining the Marshall Center, Schliebitz held positions in the German Federal Ministry of Defense, was seconded to the Federal Foreign Office, and served in the German Delegation to NATO. He also served as an action officer in the EU Military Staff in Brussels.
Schliebitz is an alumnus of the 3rd Joint German Armed Forces General Staff Course in Hamburg and the Joint Command and Staff Program 37 of the Canadian Forces College in Toronto, Canada. He has been serving in the Bundeswehr since July 1993.
