In addition to providing security practitioners worldwide with skills-based training for real-world security challenges, the Marshall Center’s resident courses are accredited by the University of the Bundeswehr Munich, offering participants the opportunity to earn European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System credits—an added benefit for those pursuing both professional development and premier security studies.
For the latest information on admissions and applications, visit the University of the Bundeswehr Munich’s Master's program in International Security Studies.
Upon successful completion, participants are awarded between 5 ECTS credits (four-week courses) and up to 18 ECTS credits (seven-week courses). These credits are documented on an official transcript of records.
ECTS credits are aligned with Level 7 of the European Qualifications Framework (EQF), corresponding to master’s-level study. ECTS credits may also be applied toward further academic study, including the Master’s program in International Security Studies, subject to that program’s separate admission requirements.
In 2027, eligible Marshall Center programs include:
• Strategic Competition (four-week program)
• European-Led Defense (four-week program)
• Hybrid Threats and Cybersecurity (four-week program)
• Emerging Security Issues (seven-week program)
Official transcripts are issued after applicants submit the required application documents, pay an administrative fee, and complete all examination requirements. Transcripts follow the University of the Bundeswehr Munich’s examination regulations, and course titles may reflect legacy module designations.
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
• Completion of a typically four-year higher education degree accrediting a competence level equivalent to 240 ECTS points
• At least two years’ qualified professional work experience
• A certificate of English language proficiency (not for native speakers)
