GARMISCH, Germany — Marshall Center director Dr. John P. Rose presents an overview of strategic issues affecting the international security environment, including pandemic disease, global warming, weapons of mass destruction, population growth and movement, and energy security, at the opening of the Program in Advanced Security Studies (PASS) Sept. 26. PASS is the Marshall Center’s flagship resident program.
The 12-week course for civilian government officials and military officers provides graduate-level education in security policy, defense affairs, international relations and related topics, such as international law, the fight against terrorism, and the fight against crime, corruption, human trafficking and drug trafficking. The current class has 145 participants from 41 countries.
