Stability, Security, Transition, and Reconstruction
The purpose of this three-week course is to create a community of officials in the policymaking and executive branches of their nations’ governments who will be able and positioned to help their countries decide how to participate productively in multinational Stability, Security, Transition, and Reconstruction (SSTR) operations.
The course will develop among the participants a common understanding of the subject matter and the challenges inherent to SSTR; the basic organizational and operational requirements of SSTR operations; and the capacity-building resources available to participant nations. The course will stress the multinational and interagency aspects of SSTR, and by facilitating contact and cooperation between participant nations and organizations will enable better integration into a wider SSTR community.
The course will also serve as a forum to share information, ideas, and best practices regarding SSTR among participants, in order to contribute to the evolving doctrine and operating concepts pertaining to SSTR
