Course Length: Three weeks (87 hours). Additional tutorial hours may be provided upon student request.
Course Prerequisite: Qualification of enrollees is determined by the requesting agency/organization. Typically, the target audience consists of flight crew-qualified Russian linguists.
Course Objective: Enhance and reinforce students’ communicative competency in Russian to enable them to perform treaty-related monitoring and interpreting duties with confidence. Success is measured by graduates’ ability to perform their duties in a satisfactory manner, commensurate with their linguistic abilities.
Course Description: Course focuses on the following areas: treaty terminology, mission planning, weather briefings, sensor operation, air traffic control (including simulated air traffic control communications), flight safety and airfield activities. The amount of time devoted to each area varies and can be adjusted to accommodate students’ needs and abilities.
