The Research Department's mission is to conduct multinational interdisciplinary research projects and workshops, maintain and promote working relationships with research and educational organizations across Eurasia, and publish scholarly articles and books in the Marshall Center's areas of interest.
The Center’s Research Program has two primary goals:
The first is to research, analyze, and develop new knowledge and insights into key issues related to our mission, including democratic security building, civil-military relations, Euro-Atlantic relations, improved understanding of the European Union's Common Foreign and Security Policy and European Security and Defense Policy, peacekeeping and multilateral operations, and international security.
The department's other priority is to build and strengthen cooperative security networks with scholars and academic institutions within the region, and - through this collaborative work - to facilitate and influence positive change in the countries where our partners live and work. This is accomplished through conducting multinational, interdisciplinary research projects with partners in the region we serve, which directly support US and German national and theater goals and objectives.
