Dr. John (Jack) M. Treddenick
Professor of Defense Economics
College of International and Security Studies

Dr. Treddenick is an economist with interests in quantitative economic analysis and the economics of defence. He is currently Professor of Defense Economics at the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany.

After service in the Canadian Navy, Dr. Treddenick joined the Department of Politics and Economics at the Royal Military College of Canada, eventually becoming Chairman of the Department of Politics and Economics and also founding Director of the Centre for Studies in Defence Resources Management. On leave from RMC, he has served as Chief of the Econometrics Division at the National Energy Board of Canada and as a Visiting Fellow in Defence Studies at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland. He is a graduate of the NATO Defense College, Rome and later served for three years as a Faculty Adviser at that institution.

Dr. Treddenick’s current research and writing interests are in the area of the economics of defence and international security, with particular emphasis on the areas of defense management, defense transformation and stabilization operations.

Dr. Treddenick has degrees from the Royal Military College of Canada and Queen's University, Kingston, Canada.
