PTSS Graduates return to Marshall Center for Seminar
May 1-3, 2007
PTSS graduates had the opportunity to return to attend a three-day seminar entitled ‘Generation Next’ Terrorism. Held from the 1st-3rd May, the 37 alumni who came from 23 countries had the opportunity to listen and respond to lectures by guest experts, MC Professors and engage in open panel discussions that focused on the sharing of observations, insights and lessons learned in techniques, principles and best practices in participating in counter terrorism operations.
Participants had the opportunity to hear up-to-date information on such topics as suicide bombing, terrorist threats in ports and at sea and anticipating and responding to terrorist chemical and biological threats. Graduates acted as respondents in order to share their personal experiences and professional insights during the panels.
The seminar, led by Colonel (Retired) Nick Pratt, PTSS Director, and Dr. John Sawicki, Professor, Marshall Center gave graduates the opportunity to reconnect with former class participants and widen their network at the same time, as well as providing current information and exchanges on counter-terrorism issues. This seminar will eventually form a ‘Community of Interest’ for further collaboration.
