The Marshall Center is extremely grateful to the Moldovan Alumni Association, the Moldovan Defense Ministry and the Office of Defense Cooperation team of the U.S. Embassy in Chisinau for organizing the third annual “Security Cooperation” Alumni Roundtable in Chisinau, Moldova. German Deputy Director of the Marshall Center, Dr. Horst Schmalfeld, spoke on Contemporary Security Developments in Europe. Presentations were also given by Moldovan Defense Minister Mr. Valeriu Plesca, Deputy Defense Minister and Chief of the General Staff BG Ion Coropceanu (SES 2002-2) and Dr. Viorel Cibotaru (SES 2005-3) of the Moldovan Institute for Public Policy. Distinguished attendees included German Ambassador Wolfgang Lerke and Romanian Ambassador Filip Teodorescu. Our special thanks go out to Alumni Association President COL (ret) Andrei Covrig and the association team, as well as ODC Chief LTC Greg Cook and ODC program manager Mr. Dorin Trestianu for both organizing and facilitating this event.
