Macedonian Alumni Hold Their Annual Alumni Association Meeting along with a Security Roundtable Event

The Macedonian Alumni Association at the end of a very successful year held their first annual alumni meeting. Mr. Rick Steinke, the new Chief of the Graduate Support Office, took the opportunity to brief the over 30 alumni who attended about new initiatives and opportunities for graduates of the Marshall Center.
The meeting was followed by a graduate-led security roundtable entitled, ‘Terrorism as a Global Threat and the Role of the Republic of Macedonia in Fighting Terrorism’. Dr Trpe Stojanovski, Assistant to the Minister of Interior and Marshall Center Associate Director for International Liaison, Ambassador David Litt, both gave a keynote address. The program, itself, consisted of two presentations. Marshall Center professor, Dr. John Le Beau spoke about ‘The Evolving Terrorism Threat and Counterterrorism Cooperation and CPT Metodi Hadzi Janev (LC 2004-4) spoke about ‘Terrorism – Challenge to International Peace and Security: Macedonian Role in the Struggle Against Terrorism’. A lively discussion followed with around 90 security professionals consisting of Macedonian officials and US Embassy staff attending the roundtable.
