On 16 May a Marshall Center Alumni Security Cooperation Roundtable took place in Dushanbe, Republic of Tajikistan. Guest Speaker Mr. Randy Ockman, Counter-narcotics Program Manager at U. S. Central Command (CENTCOM), provided a presentation on CENTCOM’s counter-narcotics efforts in the region, focusing especially on activities affecting Tajikistan. MAJ Abdoulhamid Norov, a department chief in Tajikistan’s Drug Control Agency, and MC alumnus (Leader’s Course LC 2003-4), presented a briefing on the status of Tajikistan’s counter-narcotics efforts. Marshall Center alumni from seven different ministries and agencies attended, as well as Mr. Hubertus Klink, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Dushanbe. Dr. John Rose, Marshall Center Director, provided a Marshall Center briefing, outlining recent developments and program changes.
