MG Sundov is the commandant of the Croatian defence academy, ‘Petar Zrinski.' Prior to this appointment he was commander of the Joint Training and Education Command. His past duties have included assistant to the chief of staff for operational-teaching activities and commander of the 4th Guards Brigade; chief of staff and deputy commander in Split Command Area and head of the Education Department in the General Staff; deputy commander of the 4th Area Command in Dubrovnik and commander of the 3rd Area Command in Knin. MG Sundov is a graduate of one of the first SES courses, 1998-4 and returned in 2006 for a second seminar, SES 2006-3.
Remarking on his time at the Marshall Center, Sundov said, “I have to confess that when I came to the Marshall Center as a course member 10 years ago, I saw the world through glasses that were red, white and blue, and it was a real change for me. I am convinced that most of the people who got there brought with them their national perspective to defense and security but left Marshall Center with new and valuable experience and knowledge. ”
MG Sundov has been active in the Partnership for Peace Consortium. He hosted its ninth annual conference, provided an inspiring vision speech at its tenth anniversary conference, and is currently serving a two-year term as a member of its Senior Advisory Council. He is the president of the Marshall Center alumni association, George C. Marshall Club – Croatia, and has assisted with several alumni roundtables held in Zagreb.
