mc-books-#2The second book, published by the department in 2001, is entitled, Federalism and Decentralization: Perspectives for the Transformation Process in Eastern and Central Europe. In writing this volume, an international team composed of 22 renowned scholars cooperatively explored ways to promote the decentralization of political structures in Central and Eastern Europe, analyzing and describing models of federalism in sixteen country case studies that could help introduce or strengthen federal structures in these countries. This book was also published by in both the US and Europe. The Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Federation published the Russian edition of the book, Федерализм и децентрализация в Центральной и Восточной Европе, in 2001.
